Broadband speed is essential for supporting high-tech industries, which help drive new ideas and create jobs. From 2020 to 2023, the number of UK homes and businesses with super-fast internet rose from 27% to 76%. This increase happened in all four countries of the UK.

In 2023, Northern Ireland had the best coverage, with 91% of homes and businesses having super-fast internet. Wales had the least, with 63%.
