The #SNEChemBio retreat is underway! 🚀 Starting strong with a warm welcome from the organizers, followed by an exciting talk by Prof. Thomas Ward (University of Basel) on “Artificial Metalloenzymes for Whole Cell Biocatalysis: Challenges and Opportunities.” Let’s dive into the science!




Session 2 at the #SNEChemBio retreat is packed with innovation! Talks include: 🔹Prof. Tommaso Patriarchi (University of Zurich) on GPCR function 🔹Prof. Serina Robinson (Eawag) on C-F bond cleavage in microbiomes 🔹Prof. Rachel Hevey (University of Basel) on glycans & microbial virulence


The #chembio retreat continues with a spotlight on SNE ChemBio alumna Dr. Victoria von Glasenapp (Victoria von Glasenapp, Gotta Lab). She’s sharing her work on “Controlling Plk1 inhibitor activity and diffusion with light.” 🌟


Wrapping up Session 2 at the #SNEChemBio retreat after dinner: 🔹 Prof. Jeff Bode (ETH Zurich) dives into synthetic biologics. 🔹 Prof. Jörn Piel (ETH Zurich) explores new peptide-modifying enzymes from exotic and common bacteria. A perfect end to a day of groundbreaking science! 🌟




Session 3 of the #SNEChemBio retreat delivered fascinating insights! 🔹Prof. Ross Milton (Milton Group) shared advancements in enzymatic electrochemistry. 🔹Prof. Michael Nash (Michael A. Nash) presented on deep mutational scanning for enzyme engineering. An inspiring start to Day 2!
