Throughout Sept the SNC project delivered sessions with the Bishop's Palace team for people living with dementia and their companions. Yesterday was the last session and there was lots of appreciation for each other and all the beauty in the gardens. @MendipHillsAONB Somerset Wildlife Trust

Serene and sunny first session at A Patch Wilder yesterday. We learnt how to use our senses to ID trees so we could select appropriate twigs to make artists charcoal on the fire. We also spent some time being awed by this Dryad's Saddle fungus. @MendipHillsAONB Somerset Wildlife Trust

Fantastic wellbeing walk at Velvet Bottom nature reserve last week. Highlights included spending time noticing all the beautiful colourful things growing in the stone walls and appreciating the bright red hawthorn berries all around. @MendipHillsNL Somerset Wildlife Trust

Fantastic start to the year for the Mendip Hills SNC group. Week 1 was a walk around Ubley Warren where we discovered some great nooks and crannies for a sensory sit spot. Week 2 we helped the National Trust do hedgerow tree planting near Kingswood. Somerset Wildlife Trust @MendipHillsNL


Week 3 for the SNC group was full of beauty and awe as we walked through Velvet Bottom nature reserve, taking lots of time to share all the amazing things around us and learning about the interesting history of the landscape. Somerset Wildlife Trust @MendipHillsNL


We've been working with the charity Diverse to set up a Nature Connection group at Bishop's Palace for adults who are neurodiverse. We celebrated the end of the first course last week by making apple bird feeders and playing games on the lawn. Somerset Wildlife Trust @MendipHillsNL


The Mendip Hills group had a special treat of a nature inspired pottery workshop at Ella Phillips studio last week. We made tiles using foliage we'd collected to show what nature means to us, then made bowls using images of local wildlife we love. @MendipHillsNL Somerset Wildlife Trust
