This week we ran two FA Level 3 Emergency Medical Aid in Football courses for our Southampton Solent University first and second year students. Incredibly proud of their professionalism and commitment to develop their pitch-side recognition and management skills.

Stellar tour of tendinopathy w. Achilles Tendons. Some key pts: - don’t ignore the structure, it’s a leading contributor to being symptomatic in future - you have to load them. Strain is a key stimulus. Load ‘em up (progressively). - don’t forget soleus or loading in DF! #PU2P

Achilles Tendons Onto claire robertson: distal ITB Pn. - compression of highly innervated adipose tissue in region but ≠ friction - compression ⬆️ w hip addn, exhaustive running, downhill runs & higher speeds so manip trg variables - can’t stretch the ITB! Focus on hip strength/endurance #PU2P
