The #SSF fishers raised strongly & continuously our voices together to keep calling on the "SSF fisheries call to action", anchored on the Food and Agriculture Organization voluntary guidelines for SSF, that we jointly developed in 2022, at UNOC2, in Lisbon.

Our voice was strong and vivedly energised the key Ocean Panels and Plenary sessions when delegates did speak, including an emotional speech from Thomas Sandrine, fisherwoman from France from our delegation.

The side event held on yesterday was specially powerful and moving when these joint messages from representatives from all continents including Europe, though our president @GwenPennarun, were laudly applauded by the audience.

It was so exciting to hear very good annoucements made by governments of Costa Rica, Madagascar, Sheichelles or Ghana, which claimed to increase areas of preferential access & comanagement in their coastal zones, which represent important victories for our global SSF movement.

We welcome the commitment of supporting SSF as a priority but we urge the @EUCommission to ensure that a specific binding Action Plan for SSF in Europe is developed during the upcoming SSF implementation dialogue, anchored on our previous proposed solutions for the Oceans Pact
