I love that when RNA splicing was discovered the title of the paper was "An amazing sequence arrangement at 5′ ends of adenovirus 2 messenger RNA". I think every scientist should get 1 paper in their career where they can call their finding something like "amazing" in the title.

If you know an academic scientist in the US, give them a hug tonight. Florian breaks down why this will devastate biomedical research in the US. Yet another self-inflicted wound on America’s capacity to lead and standing in the world

BREAKING: A government worker reports that fresh-faced 19, 20, and 21-year-olds from DOGE are running 15-minute kangaroo courts to decide if federal employees keep their jobs. Bureaucracy just turned into an episode of Shark Tank, but with interns holding the gavel.

Today, along with 2,000 other NIH employees, I had to clear out my office 😭 It was truly the honor of my life to work with such incredibly passionate people focused on improving human health.

"But RFK Jr just wants vaccines safety tested. WHY WOULDN'T YOU WANT THAT" I hear this. often. Well - they are safety tested. Extensively. And by him doubting that and lying about that he is using a cheap confidence trick to make you doubt vaccines. Its nasty and pathetic.

I be scammin 6x a day, every day. Those fake PCR reactions sure do pay the bills, tho. All them fake clones doing fake tangible changes to organisms.

HEK293 cells are an immortal ( forever living) cells from an embryonic kidney made in 1973. These immortal cells (not fetal tissue or baby parts) have been the corner stone of drug discovery in biomedicine- everything from cancer to Alzheimer’s. American scientists are people

My latest for Teen Vogue explores the horrific story of popular skincare ingredient Retin-A. Before Retin-A was approved by the FDA in 1971, it was tested on hundreds of incarcerated Black people in Philadelphia without their informed consent. The survivors still bear the scars
