Had a wonderful time presenting new COMMIOS isotope & DNA results for humans buried at Danebury Hillfort! Dr Laura Castells is doing a full osteo reassessment and SUERC will be doing AMS-dating! 🦴 Find out more at P3 or please find me and we can chat over ☕! #UKAS2024

#stableisotope study led by Olivia Bell with National Environmental Isotope Facility funding shows smaller dietary niche breadth of Tasmanian devils and sympatric spotted-tailed quolls with increasing human-modified habitat, but no effects with DFTD-related devil declines. doi.org/10.1007/s00442…

Here at SCENE we would be very happy to host people interested in fish/aquatic/isotope ecology, food webs, avian ecology, invasion biology, (pre)historical ecology, restoration ecology (and much much more). See here for a nice video of SCENE youtube.com/watch?v=yAtFvL…

SCENE It is worth noting that not only are we at SCENE part of the powerhouse that is @UofG_SBOHVM but that we are also closely related to the isotope folks at SUERC Lots of amazing systems, equipment and questions waiting to be worked on. Very, very friendly people too!

We'd be happy to host anyone interested using stable isotopes to inform their ecology project. The following is a course description, but it gives you a good idea of the kind of things we do. gaea.ac.uk/about-the-stab… europa.eu/!6rhQWG

A fantastic time sampling the #pangolin specimens at the Discovery Museum , with Dan Gordon Great North Museum: Hancock , who gave us a delightful tour around the rest of the collection. Scales are being subsampled, ready for #stableisotopeanalysis - will talk more at the ATBC meeting

A BIG thank-you to our SUERC #stableisotope lab technicians Andrew and Julie, who have retrofitted a secondhand Elementar IRMS Microcube to our old Thermo Fisher Delta XP, with new fittings and 3D-printed assembly. Great to see a 21-year old mass spec being put to good use.
