Forest fertilization may mean biodiversity loss. It should therefore only be done where it really increases tree growth. This seems not to be the case in low-productive pine forest and in cold climate. Also not in low and high productive spruce forest. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Selection of forests for preservation is a high priority in Sweden. But this selection is mainly based on a subset of aboveground characteristics and fail to capture important parts of the soil fungi, particularly in northern Sweden. conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/co…

Håkan Rydin has published a manuscript that he found in the archives of our department, written around 1960 by two of the most important mire ecologists of the 20th century: Hugo Sjörs och Eville Gorham. Nobody knows why it was not published by the authors mires-and-peat.scholasticahq.com/article/129644…

An analysis in nature identifies key drivers behind vascular plant composition changes in a warming Arctic. The study finds overall species loss or gain did not occur, but turnover was widespread. go.nature.com/3YTt1Se
