Healing faces, restoring hope ✨🇮🇶 In Erbil, our Swisscross team is performing life-changing maxillofacial and plastic surgeries—like for a 24-year-old woman from Soran, who’s lived with facial burn trauma since childhood. #HumanitarianSurgery #ReconstructiveSurgery

Screening is not just a medical check-up—it’s the foundation of safe, effective care. It ensures that every patient we operate on receives the right treatment at the right time, and that we prioritise those most in need. In #Erbil this May, our team screened 85 patients.

Trauma doesn’t wait. Surgical care shouldn’t either. 🏥 90% of the world’s traumatic injuries occur in low-and middle-income countries, yet access to safe, timely surgery remains limited. At Swisscross, we’re trying to change that from burns, blasts to orthopaedic injuries 💙

🔴 Displacement, poverty, and a fragile health system — the triple burden facing thousands in Iraq. This isn’t just a medical issue. It’s a social, economic, and human rights emergency. At Swisscross we endeavour to make impact through free, life-changing reconstructive surgery.
