Our SWOP organizers partnered with Good Kids Mad City Englewood to provide leadership development and ECPS training to some of the youth interns.

We want to share out again that there will be weekly open gym opportunities at St. Clare Gym on 2629 W 55th St, Chicago, IL 60632. Open gym will occur every Tuesday (7pm – 8:30pm) and every Saturday (1pm –2:30pm).

SWOP hosts Healthy Southwest Regional Collaborative meetings at the SWOP office with leaders from southwest system of care to evaluate current practices, events and next steps for collaborative events, the Medicaid enrollment initiative and the expansion of the IRIS system.

Our organizers partnered with GoodKids MadCity – Englewood to hold a youth leadership development training on the importance and power of One to Ones.

Our Parent Mentors participated in a Canva training hosted at our SWOP office where they learned how to do photo collages, flyers and invitations that will help highlight the amazing work they already do!

Our anti-violence team has been working hard to build community and provide restorative and refreshing activities within our community. On Saturday they hosted a block party style Light in the Night, and we couldn’t have been happier to see members of our community having fun.

Our Parent Mentors are headed back to the schools and to get them pumped for the upcoming fall semester, they had a kickoff event to show off their school spirit! Let’s go ParentMentorProgram! 🥳

SWOP is working alongside GKMC Englewood and Da Oasis to create a safe, fun and welcoming space for kids and teens to come out and participate in. Every Friday we will continue having these Kickbacks for the youth at 5pm.

Our PHAs (Public Health Ambassadors) got together with GKMC (Good Kids Mad City) Englewood to bring our career pathways opportunities to the community at Evening Star M.B. Church during a food depository event that saw around 80 families coming through its doors.
