Happy joining day to me! 16 years ago today I started my journey with South Yorkshire Police and @SYP_Specials not knowing where it was going to take me. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey in the last 16 years. Still many more to go!

Aside from everything else I do. Also trying to learn a new language, now on day 50 of spending a few minutes a day to learn Japanese.

Back at @LifewiseCentre today for the first round of practical assessments for our student @SYP_Specials. An amazing facility that allows us to use a realistic environment for our student officers.

A very productive weekend in London at a CO Conference hosted by MPSSpecials and CO Deller. Lots of ideas and discussions to drive change. I also had the opportunity to present the first draft of an SCO role profile, many stages left though. Thank you for a great weekend

A really productive night last night at our CPD Event. Updates on what is happpening across force, followed by an exercise for attendees, on what they would like us to start/stop/continue doing. It will link into a new SC strategy. Then a refresh on JESIP and METHANE.

Time spent at force training school this morning, welcoming 13 new Special Constables! They’ll now embark on a 19 week training programme around ethics, standards, legislation, personal safety, and a range or procedures.

Time spent this evening with other SC Chiefs and Leads across the North East, discussing a range of SC issues, sharing ideas and thoughts on working closer. Always nice to network, share ideas and issues and discuss differences. More to come during this year! 📷wikiwand

A few days away from work, and policing to visit London and attend Founders day Royal Hospital Chelsea. Bill and I worked on the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and we’ve continued on as friends since. Was also nice to get a picture with a Yeoman Warder. The Tower of London. A wet day but also amazing
