A timely reminder that five obsequious Scottish Labour MPs - Graeme Downie, Blair McDougall, Frank McNally, Gregor Poynton and Joani Reid - so strongly supported Starmer/Kendal's benefits catastrophe that they very publicly put their names to it: holyrood.com/news/view,scot…

“I am happy that we have a government that has the backs of disabled people unlike Labour” The SNP’s Shirley-Anne Somerville says Labour’s welfare cuts “will not help people into work” and won’t support cuts that “takes away from the vulnerable” #bbcqt

We feature an interview with Shirley-Anne Somerville - she says Scotland's approach to social security based on "dignity, fairness and respect" is a “shining example” of how the country could choose a different path through independence thenational.scot/news/25263760.…

I spoke to The National about Scotland's fairer approach to social security, my frustration over the inadequacies of the Union & how we could do so much more with the full powers of independence. This should be at the heart of every debate about Scotland’s future.

Interesting intervention from Andy Burnham. While changes to PIP don’t impact on disabled Scots directly as Scottish Government will NOT change to ADP, this will still have severe consequences on our future budgets. And still no word from Scottish Labour and Anas Sarwar.

Today’s figures show best monthly 4hr A&E performance in 2yrs & best delayed discharge in 18months, much more to do & only beginning of improvements I want to see. Visiting Lothian today to see progress on cutting waiting times - 14% annual reduction in inpatient & daycase waits.

Only 4 Scottish Labour MPs vote down this omnishambles of a Bill. Anas Sarwar supports it now and supported first draft that pushed 250,000 people into poverty #newdirection Let’s not forget Labour MPs who pushed for this in the first place inc those from Scotland #change 👇

Labour’s behaviour towards people with disabilities is appalling. The chaos that Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves have presided over has shown total contempt for the vulnerable. And Anas Sarwar has supported them all the way. Westminster is failing. Scotland deserves better.

Delighted that high schools in #Dunfermline have been chosen to take part in The SNP Scottish Government’s Free School Meal expansion. Free school meals are not just about food, they’re about dignity, equality and opportunity.

Scottish Labour are seeking advice from the Tony Blair Institute for the Scottish Election, whose staff have been taking part in a project investigating turning Gaza into a Riveria. The final plan proposes “paying half a million Palestinians to leave the area”.

We introduced the Young Carer Grant in recognition of the vital role young carers play, and also to provide money they can use to take part in activities they might miss out on otherwise. I would urge any young carer who is eligible for the grant to apply.
