The frosty weather has given us opportunities for learning. We wondered why one side of the tunnel was frosty and the other wasn’t 🤔 CM knew - “because the sun is shining on it and making it hot but this bit not”. Some of us also found different ways to mark make.

We are well and truly on the Christmas countdown now!🎅🏻❤️✨

Today was a busy day in woodwork, A was using the measuring tape to measure his wood and Z was using the drill to drill a hole for the screw. #wonderfulwoodwork

We have had a busy term in the garden. We have set up our new composter, tidied up the leaves and planted some spring bulbs. We are looking forward to using the rest of our Food for Thought grant money in the new year when we start planting our vegetables 🥕🫛🥬 #Food4ThoughtFund

Today we we’re very creative in the block area. N said “ we are building a house we've put our hats on in case a brick falls on our head”

We have been showing an interest in how things move and today with pipes, planks and a marble run, we tried out different ways to make objects roll and slide. We experimented with different heights to see which would make things roll faster or slower. #earlymaths

We are using a variety of materials to create our own collage pictures. “I can help you cut this shape”

Today we started filling our new raised beds ready to start planting our veg seeds. It was hard work and we have quite a bit to do so definitely need porridge for breakfast tomorrow 💪😂Thank you to Mitchell’s, Cumbernauld for such a prompt delivery 😊 #Food4ThoughtFund

Continuing on with our interest in movement - which has included making LOTS of paper aeroplanes - we decided to do some different aeroplane activities at the gym hall today. We used our bodies to take off, fly, race and make a safe landing.

Following on from our interest in paper planes we further developed our knowledge and skills in the gym hall by making our own planes, flying them from different heights and measuring how far they travelled.

Alongside the aeroplanes, children are enjoying trajectory experiences. Here are some examples of the fun we had below!

Today we explored our local community looking for aeroplanes. We stumbled upon quite a few planes when heading towards Inchyra Park.

Our interest in aeroplanes continues. Today we built our own aeroplane. We laid out seats, put on wings and even made our own tickets and passports. We looked at a map and found lots of places we would like to go. “We’re going to America” - F ✈️🌞 #earlyyearsimagination

We love making paper planes at our nursery. We make them every day !!! 🙈😂 and we have been learning how to fold our own. This week we have been extending our learning. Mrs R has been working with us on doing some origami. So far we have made “birds and dogs” - C
