Does exercise need to comply with the recommended physical activity guidelines in order to boost mental health? Or can lesser/different types of movement work? I'd love to hear from anyone whose phys. activity doesn't 'tick the boxes' but helps their mental health - for feature.

Regarding the recent application by National Farmers' Union to allow 'emergency' use of neonics on sugar beet, this image explains the problem: most of the pesticide goes into soils, leaches into waterways, & is taken up by wildflowers & hedgerows. Only 5% in crop. nature.com/articles/natur…

Harebell/Scottish bluebell (Campanula rotundifolia) at Del Bog, Cairngorms. With stems and petals so delicate, it's a wonder they make it through to October... #wildflowerhour

WHY do we allow multinational-owned super trawlers to extract all the wildlife from our waters? What’s in it for us? It’s legalised ecocide. Get them out.

I think best when I'm on my feet. My new Substack explores how movement (and sometimes, stillness) is a way of deepening our connection to the environments we move through - and knowing ourselves better. Join me as I find my feet in the Cairngorms. #ukrunchat #nature

Less and less engagement on here (apart from a steady flow of new followers, none of whom have a bio, nor have ever posted; many who appear scantily clad). I'm having more fun at Sean O'Croidhann.bsky.social
