Thankful for a quiet Sunday morning, and the sun making a slow rise of it as mist dissipates. And I’m reading about Czeslaw Milosz, a Polish poet. Thanks to The Free Press for Things Worth Remembering and introducing him to me.

I'm thrilled to share that my poem "Hinoki and Cedarwood" was recently published in humanaobscura ! It was actually inspired by something a little unexpected: the way Josh Godfrey, an Instagram influencer (don’t judge!), describes the colognes he wears. His creative wording

In general, I am an outgoing individual who enjoys the company of others, but the more I write, the less I want to be with others. It made me think of what Frank O'Hara said about a poem, "A poem was something one wrote instead of making a phone call to a friend."

OMG. I literally did this the other day! And then moved a word from the end of one line to the beginning of the next, and moved it back again. Grrrr

Might not be as newsworthy as another lit mag ghosting hopeful contributors or a shady contest charges outrageous fees, but I've lowered the cost of Stanchion Magazine (who LOWERS prices, in this economy?!) & increased payments. I think that's something. stanchionzine.com/post/the-dawn-…

Finally caught my first butterfly on camera, and it’s a stunning monarch! These beauties have been so elusive lately, so I’m beyond thrilled to share this moment!

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately compiling my poetry into potential anthologies and collections for publication, and also submitting individual pieces to literary journals, many of which I have to keep under wraps until I hear back on whether they’ve been accepted (or

I subscribe to Rattle daily poems and was thankful to come across "Feed" by Jared M. Campbell this morning. It is worth the read. What's in your feed these days? rattle.com/feed-by-jared-…

Last weekend, while wading in the waters of Cape Cod, I found myself thinking about my poem Salt and Sway. The ocean was cold, as New England seas often are, but I surrendered to the rhythm of the waves nonetheless. open.substack.com/pub/samaureli/…

If you're feeling a bit uninspired and looking for a fresh perspective, The Art of the Voice by tony hoagland is a great place to start. The reading is really engaging, and the exercises are not only interesting but genuinely helpful.
