A single cell of the chalky part of the rice grain (coloured in green). Grains are chalky because of loosely packed starch globules. Individual green globules are amyloplasts. Red speckles are protein bodies. This is natures way of packaging food 🙏 #chlakygrains

And, this is the way starch is packaged in a non-chalky #rice grain. Scanning is done on our SEM (#TESCAN Clara) and pseudo-colors have been added by using Photoshop, (magnification x1k)
