These two boys are my grandsons. They came for a sleepover this past holiday weekend. Here they are dancing with their shadows when we were out for dinner at Rt 108 in Sandy Spring. Their ongoing antics remind me about the importance of play and to find joy around every corner.

Who knew Lake Michigan was turquoise blue in July? My two past visits (decades ago) were both in December when Chicago was grey, chilly, & snowy. These three days in Windy City have been a remarkable adventure discovering one of America's greatest urban centers. Yummy food, too!

Come to Portico Gallery in Mt Rainier MD & view the exhibition, PRIDE. Inside the gallery, curator John Paradiso hung 24 artist's work. My installation, RAINBOW ROOM, is outdoors overlooking historic Rt 1. The gallery is open 12-3pm on Saturdays until 9/11/21 and by appointment.

Beautiful Lake George New York is slightly cooler than further south. I'm grateful to be here for a week filled with relaxation, fresh air, clear water, and North Country vibes. The lake is 32 miles long and among the cleanest in the world thanks to geography and due diligence.

And then there are sunset skies so spectacular, I feel compelled to share the sight far and wide. This was last night at twilight. With daylight savings time changeover in three weeks, we will have to wait till mid-March to enjoy longer days. Sweater weather and pumpkins anon.

Season's greetings preview mid-November Mid-Atlantic style! I walked by this crew today as they were decorating a building lobby I was visiting. Total winter snow forecast hereabouts: 10"-20." Worst storms are usually in February. Grateful for today's sun and warmth. Thank you!

We who live around D.C.'s snow donut have had a mild season so far. No hard frost yet & rose bushes bloom on. Shielded by Appalachian mountains to the west & the Chesapeake Bay to the east, this region is generally weather blessed. My heart goes out to those in harm's way. PAX.

The benefit to being at this beach bar off season: lots room to roam! I made a quick trip to Rehoboth Beach this weekend to see friends & go to an art reception. Strolled along the boardwalk, breathed in chilly ocean air, & enjoyed the holiday lights and spirit. Travel safely!

Yes, it's December 22nd: roses continue to bloom in suburban Maryland, north of Washington, DC. We've had chilly mornings but no hard frost to date. Today was a good day to explore and walk-about. My county = my country until the bug settles down and the National Health improves.

SNOW = an infrequent visitor to these parts over the past several years. 5" so far as of mid morning. Glad I went to the store yesterday. Driving around here in winter storms is to be avoided due to road slickness. Good day for grilled cheese sandwiches & catching up on chores.

What do we do when the DMV temp climbs to over 100 degrees on Sunday in July? Head on over to the splash park in the morning the community pool in the afternoon with a picnic lunch al fresco in between. Grateful to live in an area with enough H20 to fill our watering holes.

Everyonce in a while, I like to explore someplace new. On this journey, I'm enjoying a few days on S.C.'s Grand Strand and living beach life at its finest. Soft sand. Warm water. No pressure. Relax. Breath. Remember the best things in life are free: air, H2O, sunshine, and love.

This 15-feet of empty floor space, #835, will be home to my new installation, "Pink Compass, True North." I, along with 1000 visual and performing artists, will transform 2100 M Street NW, a vacant office building in DC, into ARTOMATIC.ORG, a pop-up creative community.

Artomatic hosts our "Meet the Artists" event today, April 13, 2024 at 2100 M St NW. The exhibition is free. Come up to the Eighth Floor and visit my installation, PINK COMPASS, TRUE NORTH & enjoy the Barbie and Ken-erg vibe. We will be open through April 28. Artomatic
