Great afternoon cutting the ribbon on the newly renovated Caroline Freeland Park w/ Montgomery Parks, Miti Figueredo 🇺🇦 🇮🇱 Marc Korman, Sarah Wolek & a huge community turnout! Named for a trailblazing champion of urban parks & design, it’s a much needed activated open space for the downtown.

Recent D16 highlights include hosting Glen Echo Park Halloween costume contest and attending its Native Voices event alongside Councilmember Andrew Friedson and supporting Emily’s list president!

Enjoyed Frozen at @olneytheatre (go see it!), joined the GOCI Maryland for its Uniting Marylanders Through Arts event, had fun at Village of Friendship Heights annual fall event, and stopped by the open house Glen Echo Fire Dept!

D16’s 4th Annual Kaul Me Home Holiday Market featured women-owned local small businesses. Amazing entrepreneurs and great products. I got some lavender oil (it’s divine) from @KharisLavender, and some sweets from @kelleeskitchendc.

Our community in D16 came out to support two important causes this week. The first was a groundbreaking for The Children's Inn for its Inn of Tomorrow and the second was WABA 3rd annual Ride For Your Life bike ride to commemorate World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

My heart is full after spending this evening at Potomac Area’s Interfaith Communities annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service in D16. It felt like each faith tradition’s offering lit up a different part of my soul. Grateful for this communal time of reflection, celebration, & love

Fantastic ribbon-cutting event for Institute for Health Computing right here in D16’s North Bethesda. The IHC will serve as a launch pad for innovation and economic development and I am so proud of the unique partnership between gov/academia/private sector that made this happen.

Had the pleasure of learning about the legislative priorities of our local business community at TGB Chamber event and the AACC/AAPA/HCCMC community priorities at the Minority Leg Breakfast.

Recent highlights include moderating a panel on workforce development Maryland Association of Counties winter conference, joining in the holiday fun at D16’s Little Falls Village, seeing Petite Rouge Imagination Stage, and hosting holiday fun for Moco Dem Caucus.

Our D16 team had a great conversation with Jews United for Justice yesterday evening. Great to be in-person and out of the zoom box.
