After analysing 60+ leaflets, working in healthcare 15 yrs and being a patient advocate for many years, here's the thread with 23 poster visuals all hospitals can do to empower patients to lead on their care. Fully educating, empowering and encouraging patients can save lives 👇

The Health Foundation Commonwealth Fund Thanks for highlighting this. Sorry it got rather dismissed on BBC R4 Today. "Well it sounds like we might be talking about this again", "an interesting report"... it's obviously the lot of GPs to accept their job will inevitably get harder. With higher workload / less workforce.

Just listened to Gill Phillips Gill Phillips ([email protected]) in conversation with Pippa Kelly on Gill’s Wild Card - Whose Shoes? Podcast. I am struck again by the humanity and absolute lack of spin/PR - so refreshing. The power of stories putting the person at the centre to achieve the right care

Only in the #NHS do we carry out improvement without including the person who it is being designed for Every improvement project should have patients driving the direction with leadership (not passive participation) We’ve made some progress on this but still a long way to go:

Aiming for perfection (the highest degree of excellence or quality in our work) is typically a bad idea. The problem? It's easy to get bogged down creating the perfect idea or optimal plan for change or exemplary report. Much better to focus on practice & progress & learning from
