Great to have Katherine Denby Katherine Denby as our John Innes Centre The Sainsbury Laboratory Friday seminar speaker—"Predictive network modelling to engineer enhanced lettuce disease resistance"

Fascinating insight into the biology of phytoplasma effectors and their induction of phyllody in plants using effectors such as SAP05– which also identified a completely new form of regulated proteolysis Saskia Hogenhout John Innes Centre The Sainsbury Laboratory #CMINorwich25

We are excited to share our latest preprint from the Hogenhout lab (Saskia Hogenhout, John Innes Centre) on plant-aphid interactions, showing that the aphid effector Mp10 balances suppression of DAMP responses and activation of ETI via EDS1.

I missed this one! Congratulations Michelle Heck ! More than deserved recognition! 💚 - can’t wait to see you later this year! 👏

Deeply honored and humbled by this recognition. Thrilled to be part of The Sainsbury Laboratory! None of this would be possible without the unwavering support from my colleagues, friends, family, and above all, every past and present member of my group! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🙏🙏🙏The Royal Society IS-MPMI

#2025ISMPMI Tolga Bozkurt introduces the effector and immune processes occurring at Phytophthora haustoria. The helper NRC4 localises to haustoria and upon activation inserts itself into the extrahaustorial membrane forming punctuate foci. It seems activated NLRs beep annoyingly.
