We’re happy to announce our first COSMOS-Web public data release, DR0.2, covering the first epoch of observations taken in January. You can find the details on our web page here: cosmos.astro.caltech.edu/page/cosmosweb…

First public release of our COSMOS-Web JWST data by COSMOS Survey!📷 This is only a small part (~5%) of the total data that we will get. (Keep your eyes open for the next releases!) More info: cosmos.astro.caltech.edu/page/cosmosweb…

We're so excited to announce our first public data release for COSMOS-Web! Our team has put an enormous amount of effort and love into generating data products that we now share with the community. Please check out our images and send us any feedback you might have!

Latest paper on arxiv! We discovered a massive z~7.65 heavily obscured radio-loud QSO (furthest radio-loud as of yet!) thanks to COSMOS-Web and the rich ancillary data of the COSMOS field. Here is a little thread on why this source is so important! arxiv.org/abs/2308.12823

#BreakingNews 📡 Furthest ever detection of a galaxy’s magnetic field. Using ALMA, astronomers have detected the magnetic field of a galaxy so far away that its light has taken more than 11 billion years to reach us. almaobservatory.org/en/press-relea…

Okay, whose idea was it to make the COSMOS (COSMOS Survey) field so big?! Every time I go through the catalog, my tiny brain is convinced I've done something wrong because there are just SO MANY GALAXIES 🤯😱🤩 Please help #JWST Link to team website: cosmos.astro.caltech.edu/page/cosmosweb

More NASA Webb Telescope information about the universe! College of Science at RIT Jeyhan and Dr. Rebecca Larson confirmed very bright galaxies in the early #universe, while also disproving the identification of what would have been the most distant #galaxy ever found. #WomenOfRIT brnw.ch/21wCAFM

The amazing Uranus WITH GALAXIES! JWST delivers again: an astonishing view of this distant world, chock-filled with rings, over a dozen moons, and background filled with stars and celestial sights! Get the full story (plus zoomed & annotated images) at nasa.gov/missions/webb/…

JWST result: galaxies in the very early universe spend more time resting between star-formation episodes. This means something different is happening in how they form stars. Great work from NASA FINESST investigator Justin Cole at Texas A&M. arxiv.org/abs/2312.10152

With support from the American Astronomical Society (AAS), Astronomy on Tap will host what is likely to be their biggest event *ever* during #AAS243 in New Orleans. Tuesday night, Jan 9, at an incredible venue: REPUBLIC NOLA, directly across from the convention center: aot.eventbrite.com

Great talk from Dr. Rebecca Larson on the increasing number of massive black holes JWST is finding in the early universe. Early days, but seems consistent with black holes forming very early, perhaps via direct collapse. #aas243

A PhD student told me yesterday that they really liked my most recent paper because I actually explained the basic concepts that most people don’t bother to explain in their papers. It was the biggest compliment I could have received. I remember being that frustrated student 🥹❤️
