Very true- also my experience until uni. It’s easier to aspire to something when you’re surrounded by role models, and the assumption that these roles are possibilities. Too many children simply don’t know, or don’t believe, they can exist beyond their immediate circumference.

We MUST do all we can to layer their thinking and sequence what they attend to as they try and construct writing for themselves…so damn tricky for them . Our explanations NEED to be crystal clear and overtly visible. THE THINKING FOR WRITING …made obvious.
