Great to see that the Houses of Parliament has had a system installed to clean the air. I'm happy for the MPs that work there. Shouldn't we be doing the same for everyone else's workplaces now? Or is it one standard for them... purifiedair.com/case-studies/t…

If EVERYONE had the same COVID protections used for billionaires at the Word Economic Forum—state-of-the-art ventilation and same day PCR testing prior to entry, we could significantly reduce the risks of COVID and Long COVID. We are third class passengers on the Titanic.

One major legacy of Boris Johnson's premiership is that 'styling out' a scandal, no matter how egregious, in the hope that it will go away is now the default position for Tory government. The fact that Zahawi threatened to sue people for correct reporting should be career-ending.

Get a better paid job, get a second job, wear an extra jumper, eat for 30p, swim in shit, live with Covid, don't call an ambulance, live without fresh fruit and veg, stop buying lattes and Netflix, live with your parents, stop talking down Britain, stop ruining Brexit and shut up

A jaw-dropper from Brexiter Steve Baker on BBC Radio 4’s PM just now: “What an extraordinary opportunity for Northern Ireland: dual access to both markets”. Er, that “extraordinary opportunity” was available to the entire UK before Brexit

The UK Government are trying to rip up the human rights of some of the most vulnerable people in society. So, here’s a little thread of some of the things they don’t want you to be reminded of right now:

This is dynamite from Kaveh Solhekol on Sky Sports News. Absolutely nails it. He has the Tories and BBC on toast. Well done!! 👏 Take 2 mins and watch👇#garylineker #ImWithGary #MOTD #ToryFascists

Fascinating how Twitter used to be the best thing to use in a news moment like this, and now it is genuinely close to useless

Ameer Kotecha Nonsense. Every country can gather crowds and let a few planes with coloured streams fly overhead. Those are NOT achievements. Feeding your hungry; healing your sick, educating your youth; caring for your vulnerable: those are achievements to be proud of.

it's key to remember that this was *actually built*. there is a link from the channel tunnel to the west coast mainline. British Rail invested £140m before it was privatised. the trains were built! but services never ran because operators didn't consider them commercially viable
