The spring sunshine has allowed temperatures to reach the low twenties across the south of the UK. England & Wales, plus the UK as a whole, have recorded their warmest day of the year so far. This also makes it provisionally the warmest spring equinox on record for Wales 🌷

The latest view from space shows largely clear skies across the British Isles Some haar and fret however continues to linger across northeastern England and eastern Scotland

Have you noticed skies becoming a little hazy towards the west? Strong winds across the Sahara have transported particles of dust northwards, which can be seen on satellite imagery from earlier this morning over the UK 🛰️

It's set to be even warmer than yesterday across England and Wales with temperatures widely reaching 24-29C this afternoon. This would make it the warmest start to May on record.

The maximum temperature recorded today was 29.3C at Kew Gardens, the warmest day of the year so far. Cardiff recorded 27.4C, also making it the warmest day in Wales so far this year.
