I was a little surprised that over half of those of you that responded picked the Groundhog Day Blizzard of 2011. The deadly heat wave of 1995 is the most memorable weather event to me. Thanks to all who answered this week's quiz.

It’s more graupel than snow but it sure is cold for late April. I miss the warmth we saw about 10 days ago.

Numerous severe thunderstorm warnings are now in effect. The strongest cell is in southern DeKalb County heading for Kane and Kendall Counties at nearly 45 mph. Winds over 70 mph are possible with this storm and there are signs of some rotation.
