Very interesting findings showing that psychological valence of words mattered in language development

Very insightful and intense meeting with the project partners of the Sea Wave consortium last week in Zurich. I was happy to share first exemplary findings on how people perceive #5G and #EMF and give an outline of the research we will conduct in 2023.

New paper out on how to communicate about health risks posed by #radon, a collaborative piece together with Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz, @IZT_Zukunft. We tested whether it is better to target websites on #radon towards different groups than to create generic ones. (1/n)

All websites shared the same content, but different points were highlighted for different groups. E.g. for those living in areas with high radon concentrations, risks were highlighted, while for house owners, building construction measures against #Radon were highligted etc (2/n)

We assessed potential effects of targeting information on information comprehension, risk perception, behavioural intention, perceived efficacy of measures against radon and personal ucertainty regarding radon. Result: Targeted individuals did NOT differ significantly (3/n)

from those receiving generic information. The power analysis indicates that it is thus highly unlikely that targeting the groups we targeted has relevant effects on the variables we assessed. My bottom line: #Risk #communication practicioners can very likely invest their (4/n)
