This stark reminder of rising poverty calls for urgent action to support families in need. No child should go hungry. 💔 #ChildPoverty #SupportFamilies m.independent.ie/irish-news/chi…

Reality is this. A Nursery worker earns roughly £10 per hour. That’s a person who teaches, cares for, builds brains and develops your child while in nursery.

Dr. Aaron Bradbury very much reflects discussions with colleagues from all over the world EECERA this week. The evidence is irrefutable on the importance of quality ECEC, yet our our childhood teachers remain undervalued, underpaid and ECEC is not recognised as a profession. #changethenarrative

So, a L8 qualified teacher on point 1 earns €43,435 almost €17k more than a L8 qualified early childhood educator, working 52 weeks/yr. How is this right? No wonder turnover in ECEC is 25%. Adequate investment commensurate with the importance of the role is vital #Budget2025

The stark reality of studying for four years to become an early childhood educator. They earn €534.30/39 hour week. Now let's take someone on minimum wage, who will rightfully earn €526.50 from January' 25. It's definitely worth studying for 4 years for that extra €8/wk!
