Gonna go out on a limb and say the richest man in the world turning the AI for a major social media site into “MechaHitler” should be more concerning to folks scared about rising antisemitism than the prospect of a thoughtful NYC mayor who thinks war crimes are bad.

Interesting: The influential Committee of 100 has come out against the proposed Commanders stadium deal, urging the D.C. Council to negotiate a "fairer" proposal that would share more revenue with the city and ensure residents east of the Anacostia River benefit.

Every single word of this Mayor Muriel Bowser statement is Republican. She’s asked about doing more to help the most vulnerable and she responds basically saying “would that help business?”

What about the Black women in the early educator section whose salaries via the Pay Equity Fund will plummet under your budget proposal in FY 2027?

Tear gas, helicopters, and mass arrests unleashed today on the farmworkers who feed America. Hundreds of people ripped away from their children for doing jobs no else is willing to do. Families separated, fruit rots in the fields, and businesses ruined.

Imposing a surcharge on capital gains above $350K won’t impact 99% of Washingtonians. 1% on $350K is a mere $3,500 for someone making $1.7 million, on average. In exchange for a very modest surcharge for the very wealthy, we can fund critical programs for all Washingtonians.

Had Joe Biden tweeted "Pete Buttigieg killed it on MSNBC this morning" and Buttigieg wasn't even on, Jake Tapper 🦅 and Alex Thompson would've written a book about it. Normal stuff from Trump though.

The reason I can afford to live in DC w/ my family is that I have benefited from the privilege of generational wealth. In a time where neighbors are struggling and the safety net is under attack, I show my love for our city by asking the DC Council to TAX ME and my cap. gains!

Under Zohran’s tax plan, someone making a million dollars a year pays nothing extra. If you make 1.1 million a year, you pay an extra 2k a year. These folks would rather light a million dollars on fire than spend a tiny fraction of that to support universal childcare. Why??

So like- are we supposed to pay the 10 % service fee and then another 20 % tip? Confusing! Just adapt and pay the workers a fair wage! If you want to help restaurants let’s control the rent and help with their other costs- not throw workers (and voters) under the bus!
