Deer depredation to row crops is a #1 problem in many areas of the state. We’re researching options of deer repellents to prevent damage to crops and help farmers to succeed in their business. Thanks to Alfa Farmers W&FG for funding this project. Alabama Extension CSES Auburn University


I recently shared results out of our deer repellents study with one promising solution to deter deer from browsing row crops. The best performing product is from the Weed Science Lab of Dr. Aniruddha Maity at CSES Auburn University. New trials to come!!!

Southern corn rust was found in 2 counties in SW Alabama. Orange to light brown tightly clustered oval pustules appear on the upper leaf surface. Spores within the pustules are orange as they rupture through the leaf surface. Rust can reduce yields #Rust #Corn Crop Protection Network
