WATCH: Open New York's Executive Director @AnnemarieGray testifies on the housing crisis and New York's need to create new homes of all kinds. "New York's housing affordability crisis is rooted in the fact that we simply do not build enough homes."

New York is one of the wealthiest states in the wealthiest country. There is no reason why *any child* should be living in poverty.

The politics of America’s housing issues in one chart: • People and politicians in blue states say they care deeply about the housing crisis and homelessness but keep blocking housing so both get worse • Red states simply permit loads of new homes and have no housing crisis

The President, Governor, and Mayor all support building more housing to address our affordability crisis, and there’s even bipartisan support in some cases. Let’s move forward and build the housing we need in NYS! nytimes.com/2024/03/21/us/…

When Congress let the expanded Child Tax Credit expire, poverty skyrocketed. Now 1 in 5 New York kids live in poverty. My Working Families Tax Credit would slash child poverty and help families stay in New York. Let's get it done in this year's budget. nysfocus.com/2024/04/09/chi…

Interesting op-ed ⁦Andrew Kahrl⁩! We must reform property taxes here in NY if we want to give every child an equal shot. We have the most unequal system of any state. Equal education funding is one of my top priorities for NYS. nytimes.com/2024/04/11/opi…

#1 - I don’t see how a cleaner environment and better transit is anything but a winning issue. #2 - I don’t know anyone who thinks driving into midtown Manhattan is anything but a miserable experience. #3 - Asking NYC to pay EVEN MORE of the region’s transit costs is unfair.
