Our new paper highlights an overlooked (and unregulated!) source of noise in the oceans. Ultrasonic antifouling technology has become increasingly pervasive worldwide, but we have now documented that it can be an acoustic disturbance to marine life.

Meet the night crew! Our collaborator Joe Warren (Joe Warren) and a team of Scripps Acoustic Ecology grad students went nocturnal to collect deep-sea specimens and eDNA at our acoustic monitoring sites. The data they processed will help us better understand the ecology of this region!
