Thank you Birds of Poole Harbour for hosting us on yesterday's autumn safari boat trip. We were delighted to see female G466 on the shoreline. Released in 2020, she has paired up with male G463 and they have established a territory in and around Poole Harbour. Roy Dennis Foundation

2023 proved to be a landmark year with the first White-tailed Eagle chick fledging from a nest in southern England for 240 years. We're pleased to report the youngster, G625, is doing well. Read more in our latest blog: roydennis.org/2023/12/22/hapโ€ฆ Sea Eagle England Photo: Mike Jerome

Fish are the preferred prey of #WhiteTailedEagles even in winter when they are harder to find, like this fish that got stranded in a flooded field. As the birds approach breeding age we see them living largely in wetland areas with abundant fish. ๐Ÿ“ท@DanSayers66658 Roy Dennis Foundation

Some great action shots of G463 chasing an Osprey captured by Joe Downing. The pursuing #whitetailedeagle forces the Osprey to drop itโ€™s freshly caught fish. Piracy is an key feature of eagle diet, but also an important ecosystem function of these apex predators. Roy Dennis Foundation

A glider in the Peak District recently found himself flying alongside one of the released #WhiteTailedEagles - G813. He managed to capture some footage of this very special moment. Thanks to Derbyshire & Lancashire Gliding Club for sharing. Roy Dennis Foundation Forestry England

Following the early success of the #WhiteTailedEagle project based on the Isle of Wight we are exploring the idea of additional small scale releases at Exmoor National Park to boost the establishing population on the south coast. Share your views here bit.ly/4i0VuO9 Roy Dennis Foundation

Our team spend many hours observing the released #WhiteTailedEagles to learn about their behaviour including diet. During a recent monitoring session they were lucky enough to capture this great clip of one of the eagles catching cuttlefish in the Solent Estuary. Roy Dennis Foundation

The shallow waters of the Solent are rich in marine life and the released #WhiteTailedEagles have been learning to successfully catch fish. They favour grey mullet, bass and on this occasion dogfish, observed recently by our team. ๐Ÿฆ…๐ŸŸ #RoyDennisWildlifeFoundation Roy Dennis Foundation
