On my way to Manchester to speak at #DEMEC23. The importance of partnering with patients in medical education as well as Empathy and personalised care is really important if we are going to deliver a NHS fit for the future.

My turning point living with #chronicpain came when I stopped relying on other people and treatments to get 'better'. Active self management and acceptance are key.

10% of prescribed drugs are unnecessary and may cause harm. With antidepressants having no clinically meaningful benefits beyond placebo for the majority of patients, safe prescribing and suitable withdrawal management are needed to help reduce exposure to harm. #BeyondPills
