A good haul from the garden (VC34) last night. Amongst plentiful December Moths and Feathered Thorns were a Crocidosema plebejana (a Migrant Lepidoptera ?), Rusty-dot Pearl and Angle Shades, and an Acleris umbrana. 40 of 10 in all.

2022 #moth highlights: In a top Migrant Lepidoptera year, major rarities evaded me, but I did catch this Splendid Brocade, trapping Dungeness Bird Observatory in late June with Jacob Spinks. Dotted Footman from the same trap.

A memorable day of #moths in June 2022, starting with Silky Wave in the Avon gorge and ending with new-for- S-Wales Dotted Fan-foot at Magor Marsh with George Tordoff, after a tortuous 3hr journey from home to that should have taken 40 minutes but for a lorry fire on the Severn Bridge.

Top bit of Otter porpoising on the #Stroud water canal at Capel's Mill this morning. A Water Rail on the bank here too StroudValleysProject #GlosBirds

This Watsonalla sp. was trapped in my VC34 garden on 07.10.23, and seems to show features of Spiny Hook-tip W. uncinula. Any views welcome Phil Sterling dave grundy🇪🇺😷
