Record job growth. The leadership of President Biden and Vice President Harris is rebuilding America’s infrastructure with American-made materials and American workers.

Over the past four years, this administration has worked to improve and rebuild our national transportation infrastructure. Today I'm in Pittsburgh to see how those improvements are strengthening transportation systems and improving everyday life.

Rode Pittsburgh’s light rail and met with staff and workers shaping the future of Pittsburgh Regional Transit. Improvements are underway across the system, including the Downtown-Uptown-Oakland BRT project we’re funding via the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Very impressed to see the progress on a major project at Pittsburgh International Airport. With support from our administration, this new terminal will improve the experience for passengers at PIT while creating a more efficient and sustainable transportation future.

This week, we honored President Jimmy Carter’s legacy and impact on our nation and the world. His leadership, intellect, faith, and ethos uplifted our country during his presidency and ever since.

Joined United Steelworkers at their Pittsburgh headquarters to celebrate the progress we've made to create enormous job growth in manufacturing and construction as we rebuild our nation's infrastructure with made-in-America products.

When I became mayor in South Bend, they told us the building trades and manufacturing jobs were gone for good. Today, years of hard work at the local level, combined with a national industrial strategy, have delivered levels of growth that I didn't dare dream of before.

It was an honor to welcome my predecessor, Secretary Anthony Foxx, back to USDOT headquarters for his portrait unveiling, a chance to reflect on his leadership and example.

The I-5 bridge is a key piece of infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest over the Columbia River. But the bridge sees daily back-ups and wouldn't withstand a big earthquake. Now, through President Biden's infrastructure plan, a new bridge will finally take its place.

During 2023-2024, the two busiest years in U.S. air travel history, the flight cancellation rate fell to just 1.2%—the lowest on record. November 26, 2024, marked the busiest travel day ever, with over 3 million passengers screened by TSA.

When we took office, roadway deaths had been going in the wrong direction for years and spiked during the pandemic. In December, we announced the 10th straight quarter of roadway deaths going down—steady progress that must continue.
