It was a great weekend for Section V Bowling! This thread will recap the results of our Section V teams who competed in the state tournament this weekend.

On Friday, in the Large School Division, Hilton boys placed second and Fairport girls finished sixth. Congratulations to Brendan Stephenson of Hilton for winning the silver medal with a high game of 300, and Mackenzie Smolnik of Fairport with a high game of 247 (6th Place).

On Saturday, at the All Section Team Competition, Section V Boys took first place with a score of 6576! Section V Girls finished sixth.

In Small School finals on Sunday, Newark girls ran it back with their second state championship in a row with a score of 5572! Marcus Whitman boys also wrapped up the day with a sixth place finish.

For Newark: High Game: Sierra George(3rd Place)(235) High Series: Rebecca Spry(2nd Place)(1201), Natalie Kent(3rd Place)(1197). Ely Mangiarelli for Marcus Whitman boys took second with a score of 268.

In total, six teams went to the state finals and four reached the podium for Section V. Way to go bowlers!

We’ve got results from Day 2 of the Bowling State Championships! The Composite Boys team earned 2nd place, with Rush-Henrietta’s Keaton Ostrowski finishing 1st overall and Fairport’s Brayden Masclee taking 3rd. Congratulations to all who represented Section V today!
