First day of science sessions INQUARoma2023 ☀️ conference with already some great #presentations by the Geology UGent and Sedimentary Geology - Innsbruck University research groups! Also got to present my poster on the #QuakeSceneChile #paleoseismology project. ➡️🔈More to follow on Monday...

Studying (past) #earthquakes or #tsunamis? 🌊🌍 We're looking for you! 👨🔬 📢 The spring 2024 Past Global Changes Magazine will focus on ongoing #research covering these fascinating natural #hazards. Interested to contribute? Contact us! ⬇️ pastglobalchanges.org/news/137332

Application Deadline for in-person participation in IODP NanTroSEIZE Synthesis Workshop is extended till 15 August 2023. Apply and go to Yokohama 🇯🇵 to learn about NanTroSEIZE project and mechanics of earthquakes👇 #KeepDrilling #IODP CHIKYU 地球深部探査船「ちきゅう」 ecord.org/reminder-nantr…

🚨Want to know more about how to highlight sedimentary structures with micro-CT? Check the last paper of Pauline Cornard, Gerald Degenhart et al. evaluating the potential of micro-CT to resolve textural properties and grain-size distribution of sandstones onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…

Seismic profiling with Michi Strasser at Lk. #Hintersteinersee with GeoPulse 3.5 kHz (KONGSBERG) to reveal the history of the lake basin... Great field work!! #TIWAG @[email protected] Sedimentary Geology - Innsbruck University BOKU University BOKU_IHG

Cores from #Hintersteiner #See reveal insights into lake history: from #limnic #sediments to #ice #age #deposits. We also took biol samples from a core, i.e. #diatoms & #eDNA. Great interdisciplinary project of @[email protected], Michi Strasser, BOKU University, #TIWAG & Sinsoma
