The last #flower out this season of the very rare Thelymitra incurva in Nadgee NR. This species was highlighted as being impacted by the Black Summer fires, so to see several hundred in seed today was great & enabled another #conservation collection for #PlantBank! #biodiversity

The very groovy & very rare Caladenia amnicola (Streamside Spider #Orchid) starting to #flower near Armidale. Known only from the type locality, we hope to get some seeds into #PlantBank for #conservation storage & research for the first time soon. #SavingOurSpecies #biodiversity

Telopea aspera (Gibraltar Range Waratah) still looking glorious on a less wet day around Washpool & Gibraltar Range NPs. There's some decent seed set firing up too, so #conservation collections for bushfire recovery projects look promising this year. #PlantBank #biodiversity

When you're down to less than 20 plants in the wild, recording #flowers, developing fruit & healthy growth on critically #endangered Homoranthus bruhlii is a satisfying task. Hopefully we can finally get some seeds into #PlantBank for #conservation soon too. #SavingOurSpecies

Finally, on my last trip for #PlantBank (for now) I nailed one of my long time foes in #endangered Almaleea cambagei in Torrington SCA today, a species that had eluded me for 6 years. Possibly my most satisfying seed collection of my 1000+ to date! #conservation #SavingOurSpecies

Back to Gibraltar Range today and a good find in Genoplesium bishopii, a pretty rare customer restricted only a couple of small spots in the granite ranges. I see lots of cool plants but I'll never get sick of the intricacy of these tiny #orchids. #PlantBank #conservation #botany

In Jan 21 the The Australian Botanic Garden surveyed popn’s of the Duck’s Head Wasp Orchid fearing fowl findings after 🔥. But they found #orchids by the duck-load with 1 area home to 50K+ plants from which seed was banked🦆. This work was part of @GreeningAustralia’s #ProjectPhoenix 📸@seedygav

Let's play pick the type locality! These are all variations in fruit of the vulnerable #Eucalyptus cannonii (sometimes considered a subsp. of E. macrorhyncha) which I'm currently studying across its range. Certainly some intriguing findings so far.... #conservation #botany

Watching the peloton crest the now notorious Ramah Av climb in the Men's Road Race in the #uciworldchampionships. Such a great atmosphere to share with my son - as a local this is a great event to see!
