Yorkshire Water has informed the Selby Times that the blockage, which caused Selby Abbey CofE Primary School to close today, has been "investigated and dealt with". A contractor has been on site this morning, and the school said it will now complete a deep clean.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill in Tadcaster. Armed officers were deployed to aid the arrest at 2:30pm near Wighill Lane yesterday. A vehicle was also seized for forensic analysis. We have contacted North Yorkshire Police for further updates.
