I’m a NO on the Big Ugly Bill until the bitter end.

Killing clean energy projects is absurd. All it will do is raise energy costs on working families, hurt American energy independence, and strain our grid even further.

REMINDER: There are ways to write bills that actually REDUCE our deficit. Our Inflation Reduction Act reduced the deficit by hundreds of billions of dollars while creating jobs across the country.  This Big Ugly Bill has scam written all over it.

Republicans are voting to drive our economy off a cliff. Why? To give the richest Americans more tax handouts. I’m voting HELL NO.

Let’s be clear: working families deserve tax cuts. We can work across the aisle on that. But what we don’t need to do is pair it with extreme, harmful provisions like the Republicans are doing with their budget bill.

Backtracking on our clean energy progress, cutting manufacturing jobs, and stifling American innovation is a surefire way to raise energy prices for families across the country.

The Republican bill will INCREASE energy costs for families and kill over two million jobs. We introduced an amendment on the floor to stop this. Republicans blocked it.

This is pure lunacy, and downright cruel. Republicans have voted to kick 17 million Americans off their health care, push hundreds of rural hospitals toward closure, wipe out millions of American clean energy careers, and add trillions to our national debt. And for what? For

Republicans voted to leave working families behind, threaten the health care of millions, and sell out our kids’ future just to hand more tax breaks to the wealthy few. It’s a betrayal of Colorado and American values.

Republicans didn’t need to do this. They didn’t need to kick 17 million Americans off health care or increase our national debt by trillions of dollars. But they did it anyway – to pay for lavish tax cuts for the richest Americans.

House Republicans STILL don’t need to do this. It’s their turn and they should vote it down.

Senate Republicans passed a cruel, reckless bill that will strip health care away from Coloradans, jack up energy prices, and balloon our national debt. The fight isn’t over. The House needs to reject this ugly bill.

House Republicans – including our colleagues from Colorado – didn’t need to do this. Excessive tax cuts for the wealthy few are NOT worth mortgaging our future economy, sacrificing health care for 17 million Americans, and forfeiting our clean energy dominance. The choice

Colorado’s Democratic delegation members stood united in opposition to this extreme, reckless bill.  Republicans did not need to do this.
