Henry rocked his first ever bike race at ATC Racing Revenant Cross! He rode 30+ min up hills, across sand, thru twists, turns, and heat, tackling the course to finish 2nd (of 2) in the 15U division. Love the no-quit mental toughness of this kid! USA Cycling #cx #txcx #usacx

Thanks to McNeil High School for showing Pearson anchMS a #mavulous time! We saw drones, cows, robots, & so much more of the awesomeness that awaits in Round Rock ISD Career & Technical Education, Round Rock ISD courses! Great to see so many former Rattlers become student leaders showing the way for the next generation!

5th Edition of #sphero week at Pearson Ranch MS starts with Sphutbol! Great competition while seeing different objects interact live before we animate colliding sprites in Code.org. Thx Sphero for making real world science so fun for our students in Round Rock ISD! #steam #soccer

Day 2 of Sphero week Pearson Ranch MS in Round Rock ISD - Super Sphero Kart! Racing with obstacles/fellow racers requires perseverance & precision. Kids were excited to play a real life video game & I love the inspiration for their Code.org video game projects! #steam #mariokart

It’s Sphero week Day 3 Pearson Ranch MS in Round Rock ISD- Angry Sphirds! CS students built towers to protect pigs, then used Angry Spheros & simple commands with Sphero’s draw program to knock them down, changing parameters each attempt (just like code iterations!) #steam #sphero

The final Sphero week challenge at Pearson Ranch MS in Round Rock ISD - the Sphabyrinth! Using block coding students set the speed, direction, & time for a Sphero to roll through a maze one step at a time, making improvements as they go. (+ bonus dramatic reveal!) #steam #sphero

We closed Sphero week at Pearson Ranch MS in Round Rock ISD by testing/improving our maze programs. After just an hour of class time, students coded a program taking #sphero through most/all of a 15 step maze. Proud of their hard work fine tuning code to maximize success! #steam

Every good Code.org game starts with an idea; Pearson Ranch MS CompSci students in Round Rock ISD brainstormed 💯s of ideas w/inspiration from different settings at school. Excited to see Parking Lot Simulator, Forest Fight, Rhythm Runner, & Banned Books Brawl - ❤️ the creativity!

#STEAM Night at Pearson Ranch MS in Round Rock ISD is one of my favorite Rattler traditions! It’s so cool to see former students (current McNeil High School McNeil Mavs) coming back to volunteer, and to see future Rattlers playing Code.org video games made by my CompSci students! #edu

Very exciting to see a City of Cedar Park company about to land on the moon! Not exciting enough to wake up at 2:30AM, but still exciting!

Congrats to the Pearson Ranch MS Rattlers who competed at our home track meet! Lots of wins, PRs in tough conditions, and awesome efforts from amazing athletes. Good luck next week at District! Round Rock ISD

Light painting with adafruit industries #circuitplayground and Microsoft MakeCode ! Pearson Ranch MS CompSci in Round Rock ISD coded microcomputers to show different colors and then collaborated to paint scenes with a long exposure camera #67 #steam

Spelunking at Inner Space Cavern! My first time visiting since the late 20th century so the stalactites and stalagmites were almost noticeably bigger!

CompSci students at Pearson Ranch MS in Round Rock ISD coded figure eight patterns with ELECFREAKS Cutebots driven by Micro:bit Educational Foundation micro:bits! Some students even managed to setup remote control capabilities using the micro:bit radio functions! #steam #edu

Final project for CompSci at @pearsonranchms in @roundrockisd Career & Technical Education, Round Rock ISD; programming self-driving robots using @elecfreaks_official CuteBots & Micro:bit Educational Foundation MicroBits! We coded motors to move & sonar sensors to stop, then came up with logic to self-navigate a course #steam #edu

Embarrassing for Texas Education Agency to perpetuate this scam under the direction of Greg Abbott. If you won’t pay for grading, paying for the test is a waste of taxpayer money.
