For the rest of today, I'm focusing on another bit of law justice world- sentencing policy. I'm off to Edinburgh to attend tomorrow's symposium held by Scottish Sentencing Council, SCCJR Sentencing Academy on effectiveness in sentencing. An important conversation in both jurisdictions.


Highly consequential recommendations due this week from the David Gauke-chaired independent sentencing review. Amongst the more newsworthy things, we at Sentencing Academy are especially interested in the expansion of deferred sentencing (different from suspended sentences). (1/3)
