Fascinating article by John Burn-Murdoch at Financial Times linking France's riots w/economic underperformance of immigrants in France relative to UK, Germany, or the US. Mirrors our estimates of immigrant barriers across countries from our recent paper w/Serdar Birinci and Kurt See! 1/N

Thrilled to see this paper come out in #QJE! We work out the aggregate implications of state-dependent models of price-setting (such as the Golosov-Lucas model) and show that they are closely connected to those of time-dependent models (such as the Calvo model).

Happy Republic Day to Turkey 🇹🇷 I was there for the 90th ten years ago. The fireworks over the Bosphorus were probably the most spectacular I’ve ever seen. Probably even better tonight for the 100th!

Social assistance programs tend to be run by the federal government. One notable exception is unemployment insurance, which is managed by U.S. states. This has created differences in eligibility and benefits for these programs. Read the analysis: ow.ly/xcuT50W4k3U
