Happy Gurpurab from year 1!

Happy Gurpurab from Year Two. Inspired by the story of Guru Nanak feeding the Yogis, we made our own langar to share using different types of paper and glue.

Oh yes we did! On Friday the children had a fantastic time joining in with the pantomime 'Sleeping Beauty,' it was jam packed with songs, dancing, silliness and laughter!

Year Two reading the newspaper today to learn about newspaper reports. We'll be writing our own articles about the Great Fire of London. Look out for these next week.

Last week we were honoured to have the volunteers from the Waheguru Foundation come to our school to collect the donations provided by our Seva family. Thank you to everyone for your support. A huge thank you to Mrs Kaur for organising the event.

Year 1 Cross-curricular RE and DT on Christianity.

Year 1 have been learning about the importance of Christmas for Christians. We have also learnt about what an advent calendar is. We designed and created our own snowman advent calendars, using a split pin as a mechanism to turn the carrot nose to count down the days.

This week Year 1 continued using our DT skills to design Christmas cards with a moving part. Look at our wonderful Christmas cards! We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Parent’s Evening Online 19:30-20.30 Wed 15th Dec An event co hosted with Creative Assembly, one of the largest AAA game studios in the UK, and Andy Robertson. Discussing how parents can help their children kick start their journey into making games. bit.ly/3EY9GDz

Year 7, 8 and 9 were treated to a singing solo artist Irini Mando perform at Eden House. Irini is an urban-pop singer and songwriter based in London. Irini sang some of her hits to the pupils and also engaged in some purposeful discussion on Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Year 4 visited Coventry Cathedral as part of their RE learning.There was lots to see and find out about, including finding out about the different areas of the Cathedral and what they mean.They learned about the Coventry blitz and time was spent in a 1940s classroom and kitchen.

Year One drew penguins following an online tutorial and then brought them to life by putting some simple shapes together.

Box Clever Theatre crew joined us today to provide an absolutely fantastic and interactive performance of Macbeth.Their skills were second-to-none and their adaptation had the audience thoroughly engaged and roaring with laughter. Thank you Box Clever

Congratulations to our two Year 9 ‘Speak Out Challenge West Midlands Finalists’ who performed incredibly well during the Grand Finals at the MAC, Birmingham last night. A huge well done to Sandeep in Y11 also, who was the MC for the entire night!
