Let’s celebrate the outstanding contributions of women throughout NY’s history. I represent the 48th District, which is full of women’s history. Seward House Museum in Auburn is home to one woman in CNY history you might know. I explain on the Senate floor. #WomensHistoryMonth

#OTD in 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth in Ford’s Theatre. A few blocks away in Lafayette Square, Lewis Powell attempted to assassinate Secretary William Seward in his home. Seward was injured in the attack, but ultimately would make a full recovery.
