This is the principal hurdle between any rapprochement between the two countries. BJP leadership is not even willing to sit with Pakistan. Unless the two countries talk with each other how can the issues between them be resolved

The mad media in India is beyond redemption but even the saner elements within it feign ignorance of Pakistan’s concerns re terrorism. They deliberately avoid discussing terrorism in Baluchistan and the fact that Indian intelligence officers have been apprehended sponsoring it.

This selective amnesia is hypocritical. Terrorism is not just one country’s problem as India pretends. Pakistan has lost thousands of lives with Indian footprint all over it.

A comprehensive dialogue to discuss all disputes is necessary between India and Pakistan. Pakistan has made the offer. India must respond. The problem: India rejects third party mediation but also refuses bilateral talks. Emphasises Simla globally yet refuses its basic tenets.

This contradiction will continue to keep South Asia hostage; can lead to more conflict, more suffering. Mature states talk and talk and talk some more. They always remain engaged. Pakistan has made the offer. India must respond.
