Tips for posting PCIs on Twitter 1) Make sure it's indicated and you explain that the pt had Class 9 angina despite being on 24 antianginals 2) If you don't do intravascular imaging, don't even think about posting 3) If you do OCT, prepare for the IVUS crowd to scoff 1/2

Arteriovenous malformations are common in childhood #ICH. A 6-yr-old boy presented w/ coma + left hemiplegia. CT showed Rt frontal #ICH. CTA + DSA w/ underlying #AVM. Pt had #microsurgical #resection and is now moving the left side and ambulating UT Neurosurgery (consent obtained)

61 yrs ago today, radiologist Charles Dotter opened a blocked femoral artery with a catheter. He called it "Angioplasty." Rejected by U.S. surgeons, the concept was embraced in Europe & resulted in Gruentzig's balloon which revolutionized the treatment of CAD. #AngioHistory

2025 US guidelines for the management of ACS (STEMI and NSTE-ACS) just released. Insertion of a microaxial flow pump (Impella) to prevent death in in cardiogenic shock has received a class IIa LOE B-R recommendation. IABP and VA-ECMO are class III for rourine use.
