More than 1 million patient consultations happen every day in general practice - more than half are face to face. The equivalent of a fifth of the population had a f2f appointment in the last month -more than a million referrals to specialist services happened in both June & July

General practice is not closed, and perpetuating the narrative that it is is dangerous to both patients and primary care staff. Years of underinvestment in general practice - and a chronic shortage of GPs must be addressed.
