Exact same thing happened to me last week. Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts by IHG hotel was told I was a late check in, arrived at 10pm, but room had been sold. Again not the staff’s fault - they were lovely & apologetic & found a hotel. But it’s just not right or safe to split up group bookings is it?

So update on the hotel overbooking. They’ve sent an apology & reassurance that this was rare & a genuine mistake & not company policy. The team will receive coaching to ensure it doesn’t happen again & a voucher was sent which will be donated. So good came of it 👍
