Flashback to when Zohran Kwame Mamdani started “running for mayor!” Whoooooo! I’m cheering for him to go the distance..overcome the wall…and do all the other running metaphors!

New York City could have plentiful, cheap, secure bike parking in the street, like in London. Imagine one of these on your block, and never having to carry your bike upstairs or leave it outside to get stolen or weather-beaten again.

After arguments today the Judge reserved decision & expects to make a ruling next week. Meanwhile the Temporary Restraining Order remains in place to protect the Bedford Ave Bikelane. Regardless of the ultimate ruling, I hope NYC DOT will keep the lane & make it safer for all.

Excellent survey of Zohran Kwame Mamdani's fast-n-free buses proposal at NYT Metro today by Stefanos Chen. "The lowly NYC bus is getting new attention thanks to Zohran Mamdani’s vow to make the service free for all. But can free also mean fast?" Yes, it can: nytimes.com/2025/07/03/nyr…

If Hillside Avenue's 22 bus lines were a transit system, it would have the 18th largest ridership in the US 60% of residents near Hillside rely and commute on public transit 83% of them ride buses BUT < 1/3 of road space was dedicated to buses, leading to extreme congestion

“They estimated that if the buses along Hillside Avenue were a single transit system, it would be the 18th largest such system by ridership in the United States.”

Deeply disappointed the Court has ruled that the City may move ahead with its decision to remove the Bedford Ave PBL. As the NYC DOT's own report stated, this will make a Vision Zero corridor less safe and expose the City to liability - yes it will and the City is on notice

The first 'microhubs' have arrived in New York City as the latest fix for what feels like endless truck traffic. But can they work? Latest piece in Curbed weighs scale, data, logistics, and the political third rail: street parking. curbed.com/article/delive…

Great question! If the current Mayor won't implement data-backed, common sense measures to speed up the nation's slowest buses after 3.5 years in office, maybe our next Mayor will?

As a driver and a cyclist I would like to see more protected bike lanes especially in the Bronx. More people should cycle as a daily activities as a way to reduce our health disparities.

Today’s press conference was a major step toward justice: 5 historic bills are up for a vote to guarantee pay & tip transparency & expand protections for 80K+ app delivery workers. Huge thanks to Council Member Sandy Nurse , Council Member Shaun Abreu & CM Jen Gutiérrez for standing up to corporate greed.

Our friends Transportation Alternatives whipped up a smorgasbord of big brain ideas to speed up our buses! Things like: 🌜 24/7 + 365 bus lanes 🚦 Traffic signals that prioritize buses 📷 Expanding automated bus lane enforcement A great cheat sheet for our Mayor... or the next one!

Shout out to THE CITY katie honan for shining the light on this equity issue. We New Yorkers for Parks launched a petition with Friends of Red Hook Pool and Brooklyn Community Board 6 to open the pool, restore the swim programs and fund our NYC Parks recreation centers citywide. secure.ny4p.org/a/let-red-hook…

Ironic & a little insulting that NYC DOT put this banner at 116th & Malcolm X. Where would u like us to bike? There are almost no north-south bike lanes in this neighborhood. TA Bronx & Uptown has been fighting for a protected bike lane on ACP, but even painted lanes would help. 🧵

We'll see you tomorrow at 6 p.m. to remember the lives of both New Yorkers killed by a reckless driver over the weekend. We will not stand by while the City continues to let pedestrians and cyclists die or get seriously injured on Canal Street.

Mayor Adams' war on biking: nearly 6,000 criminal summonses to people on bikes in just three months. Meanwhile, reckless drivers terrorize our neighborhoods, killing New Yorkers from Sunset Park to Chinatown. Mayor Eric Adams does nothing. We went on Eyewitness News to talk about it:
